NaNoWriMo and November TBR

It’s November and you know what that means. It’s time again for National Novel Writing Month. This of course means that my reading expectations are low and this TBR is going to be very small. I want to dedicate a lot of time to writing this month so I won’t have much time to read.

If you’re participating send me your profile link on here and we can be buddies 🙂 For anyone interested here is the link to my page: Tori_Barnett

Well now shall we get to talking about books? Again as I said this is going to be a short list and mostly comprising of books related to writing.

WonderBook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction by Jeff VandermeerWonderbook

I’ve actually already started this, I brought this some time last year and to be perfectly honest I haven’t read much of it. What I have read is really good though so I hope to read some more, I’m not planning on finishing this book but I at least want to read some more of it.

Writing Fiction by Linda Anderson and Derek Neale

writing fiction

This was is a book I was meant to read for my Creative Writing class in university last year but never got around to. Again I have started this but not finished it. This is a short book but it is very text heavy and I don’t want to overload myself so I again don’t know if I’ll actually read this all the way through.

Binge by Tyler Oakley

Binge

I’m currently reading this so I want to finish it this month. I can’t overload myself with writing this month so I do want to read some more light-hearted books as well as writing books.

Rurouni Kenshin 3-in-1 Volume 5 by Nobuhiro Watsuki

vol 5

Again I’m currently reading this and I want to actually finish it this month. This is a manga and a re-read so it shouldn’t take long but it will be a nice relaxing reprieve from all the writing.

There you have it. All of the books I might read this month. I’m not really planning on having a good reading month this month so some of my posts might be a little repetitive or I might just not post them if they’re the same as the week before. I might do a post about my NaNoWriMo progress instead.

I hope to see you on the NaNoWriMo website or on Twitter.

Good Luck!

October 2015 Wrap-Up

I started work recently so this month has been a task of getting used to revolving my life around work and getting to work. As a result I didn’t really read much this month but all the same I think I did quite well. I read a total of five books this month and I am in the process of reading another one right now.

Anime

Well as far as anime goes this month I didn’t really watch much. Not because I don’t want to but because the one that I’m interested in is still being releaced once a week so I can’t really get around that but here is a list of the anime I have watched so far this month.

This Week in Books #6

This Week In Books

Well hello again, it’s the middle of the week again and so it is time to talk about the books I’ve read in the past week. Again I’m pretty happy with how much I’ve read but also a little disappointed in myself. This week I had to put down a book and leave it for another time. Never, Never by Brianna Shrum is a good book and I was enjoying it but I wasn’t overly invested in reading it. It didn’t hook me (no pun intended) and I had to put it down so I could focus on other books I am more interested in. I hope to pick it back up eventually though and finish it.

As always a shout out to Lipsyy Lost & Found for creating this weekly meme and without further ado lets get in to the books.

That was my week in books and what I plan to read in the coming week. As I said it was a good and a bad week for me reading wise but overall I’m quite happy with my progress.

How has your week been? Please leave a comment, send me your post if you’ve done something similar and I’ll head on over for a read 🙂

Thank you again for reading,

Until next time,

This Week In Books

Well this is going to be a little like a book haul because most of the books I’m currently reading are books I’ve brought this month and haven’t hauled yet.

As always a shout out to Lipsyy Lost & Found for creating this weekly meme and without further ado lets get in to the books.

NOW

Twilight Re-imagined: Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer

Page 185 of 752 (25%)

This makes it look like the book is huge (which it is) but there are two books in one so technically I’m just under half way through Life and Death. I’m actually really enjoying it!

Never, Never by Brianna Shrum

Kindle NetGalley ARC (Now Archived) 50%

I’m not really actively reading this at the moment. I mostly read this as I am in bed and struggling to sleep. Needless to say it is taking me a long time because of that. I am enjoying it though, I think I would be reading it a lot faster if I had a physical copy of it instead of a Kindle edition.

The Amazing Book is Not On Fire by Dan Howell and Phil Lester

Page 122 of 224 (54%)

A book that I am reading at a very casual pace. It is a very easy read but not the kind of book you need to read all in one sitting or even in order. I can easily pick this up and flick to a page I want to read without loosing any of the experience. I’m really enjoying this and hope to finish it this week.

THEN

Crown of Midnight

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

I really enjoyed reading this and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series. I don’t think I will be able to get to Heir of Fire any time soon as I have been buying quite a lot of books this month that I need\want to read. I’m feeling a little guilty over how many books I’ve already brought this month so I want to make a dent in the books I’ve been buying to alleviate some of my lingering guilt. Hopefully I’ll read Heir of Fire some time next month.

NEXT

131020152

Well aside from the books above I think the next book I read will be a book I’ve just brought. So it will be one of these:

Binge by Tyler Oakley

Food Wars! Vol. 1: Shokugeki no Soma by Yuuto Tsukuda and Illustrated by Shun Saeki

Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 5 by Nobuhiro Watsuki and translated by Kenichiro Yagi

Well I hope you liked reading my update this week, I’m sorry there wasn’t a TTT yesterday (truth be told I couldn’t find the motivation to write it) I’ll do my best to get one up next week. What are you reading right now and what do you plan to read? If you have a similar post to this I would love to read it so send me a link and I’ll take a look 🙂

Thank you for reading and,

Until next time,

This Week In Books

I know, I know. I’m sorry there wasn’t an update last week but I have one for you this week. I didn’t do much reading last week which is why there wasn’t an update but I did quite a bit of reading so far this week.

This was created by Lipsyy Lost & Found.

Technically I only flicked through this looking at the layout and the illustrations. I have read the story recently so I don’t really want to read it again right now.

Yes, that’s right. I finally finished reading this and moved on to the next book in the series. I might do a mini review of each book in a mass post of the four books (assuming I read all four, I almost gave up on Crown of Midnight but I pushed past it!).

NEXT

06102015 3

This is tricky. I’m not sure if I will immediately continue with the Throne of Glass books. I might give myself a little break and read a manga or the next book in the Percy Jackson series. I’m going to list both of them here because I will probably read one of these next.

Well I think this is a significant improvement on the past few times I have done this post. I’m pretty happy with how much I’ve read this week and I hope to finish reading Crown of Midnight some time this week and then focus on finishing Never, Never.

What have you been reading this week? Is there anything you want to finish by the end of the month, I’m interested to know.

Until next time,

October 2015 TBR

SAM_1865 (2)

So the time has come again where I make a list of all of the books I want to read this month. I have a very ambitious TBR this month but I’m going to do my best to read as much of it as I can.

CURRENTLY READING

TO BE READ

BingeIn regards to the Throne of Glass series I’ll be happy if I can finish reading Crown of Midnight and start Heir of Fire, I doubt I will get to Queen of Shadows this month but I thought I’d put it on here just in case. I will be reading Harry Potter as soon as I get my hands on it but I’m not sure about Binge yet.

I thought I would continue my trend of reading a Rurouni Kenshin book and a Percy Jackson book at the beginning of the month but I don’t think I’ll actually read them at the beginning of the month. It wouldn’t surprise me if I don’t get to them until the end of the month.

As I said before this is an ambitious TBR but I hope to read as much of it as I can and I’ll be updating you every Wednesday with my progress in my This Week In Books posts.

Are any of these books on your list? Let me know 🙂

Until next time,

Top Ten Tuesday #12 – My Fall TBR

TTT

Now this is going to require me to think up a TBR for Fall. I never normally have a list of books I want to read and stick to it. I have a general idea of what books I will read but it’s always changing. Some of these books I have already read this month so I will mark them showing which I’ve read.

Well this list is a lot longer than ten books, I kind of turned this in to a post about my TBR instead of my Top Ten but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted and created by The Broke and Bookish, if you’re interested in joining in the meme or want to know what are next topic is then head on over there.

As always if you click on the book title or book cover it will take you to its Goodreads page.

I’m sorry that it isn’t a very detailed list, I hope you liked it anyway. Are any of these on your list? I’m sure my list is going to change drastically (except HP that will stay where it is).

Remember you’re welcome to leave a link to your TTT in the comments and,
