This Week In Books

So I didn’t really do much reading this week and I’m not actually reading anything at the moment. I really need to get on that but here is my weekly update on my reading.

EDIT: I (again) wrote this on Monday – I’ve really got to stop doing that – I’ve gone through and edited in a book that I’m currently reading. I hope it all still makes sense 🙂

As always a shout out to Lipsyy Lost & Found for creating this weekly meme and without further ado lets get in to the books.

I have REVIEWED this book 🙂

Penny has a secret.

Under the alias GirlOnline, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family – and the panic attacks she’s suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love – and capturing every moment of it on her blog.

But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny’s cover – and her closest friendship – forever. (Via Goodreads)

Well I might not be reading much right now but I do have plans to read some good books in the coming week or two so that kind of makes up for it in my opinion.

Sorry this wasn’t much of a post but I’m not going to lie about what I’m reading and what I’m not.

So until next time,

This Week In Books

Well hello again, it’s the middle of the week again and so it is time to talk about the books I’ve read in the past week. Again I’m pretty happy with how much I’ve read but also a little disappointed in myself. This week I had to put down a book and leave it for another time. Never, Never by Brianna Shrum is a good book and I was enjoying it but I wasn’t overly invested in reading it. It didn’t hook me (no pun intended) and I had to put it down so I could focus on other books I am more interested in. I hope to pick it back up eventually though and finish it.

As always a shout out to Lipsyy Lost & Found for creating this weekly meme and without further ado lets get in to the books.

That was my week in books and what I plan to read in the coming week. As I said it was a good and a bad week for me reading wise but overall I’m quite happy with my progress.

How has your week been? Please leave a comment, send me your post if you’ve done something similar and I’ll head on over for a read 🙂

Thank you again for reading,

Until next time,

This Week In Books

Well this is going to be a little like a book haul because most of the books I’m currently reading are books I’ve brought this month and haven’t hauled yet.

As always a shout out to Lipsyy Lost & Found for creating this weekly meme and without further ado lets get in to the books.

NOW

Twilight Re-imagined: Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer

Page 185 of 752 (25%)

This makes it look like the book is huge (which it is) but there are two books in one so technically I’m just under half way through Life and Death. I’m actually really enjoying it!

Never, Never by Brianna Shrum

Kindle NetGalley ARC (Now Archived) 50%

I’m not really actively reading this at the moment. I mostly read this as I am in bed and struggling to sleep. Needless to say it is taking me a long time because of that. I am enjoying it though, I think I would be reading it a lot faster if I had a physical copy of it instead of a Kindle edition.

The Amazing Book is Not On Fire by Dan Howell and Phil Lester

Page 122 of 224 (54%)

A book that I am reading at a very casual pace. It is a very easy read but not the kind of book you need to read all in one sitting or even in order. I can easily pick this up and flick to a page I want to read without loosing any of the experience. I’m really enjoying this and hope to finish it this week.

THEN

Crown of Midnight

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

I really enjoyed reading this and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series. I don’t think I will be able to get to Heir of Fire any time soon as I have been buying quite a lot of books this month that I need\want to read. I’m feeling a little guilty over how many books I’ve already brought this month so I want to make a dent in the books I’ve been buying to alleviate some of my lingering guilt. Hopefully I’ll read Heir of Fire some time next month.

NEXT

131020152

Well aside from the books above I think the next book I read will be a book I’ve just brought. So it will be one of these:

Binge by Tyler Oakley

Food Wars! Vol. 1: Shokugeki no Soma by Yuuto Tsukuda and Illustrated by Shun Saeki

Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 5 by Nobuhiro Watsuki and translated by Kenichiro Yagi

Well I hope you liked reading my update this week, I’m sorry there wasn’t a TTT yesterday (truth be told I couldn’t find the motivation to write it) I’ll do my best to get one up next week. What are you reading right now and what do you plan to read? If you have a similar post to this I would love to read it so send me a link and I’ll take a look 🙂

Thank you for reading and,

Until next time,

This Week In Books

I know, I know. I’m sorry there wasn’t an update last week but I have one for you this week. I didn’t do much reading last week which is why there wasn’t an update but I did quite a bit of reading so far this week.

This was created by Lipsyy Lost & Found.

Technically I only flicked through this looking at the layout and the illustrations. I have read the story recently so I don’t really want to read it again right now.

Yes, that’s right. I finally finished reading this and moved on to the next book in the series. I might do a mini review of each book in a mass post of the four books (assuming I read all four, I almost gave up on Crown of Midnight but I pushed past it!).

NEXT

06102015 3

This is tricky. I’m not sure if I will immediately continue with the Throne of Glass books. I might give myself a little break and read a manga or the next book in the Percy Jackson series. I’m going to list both of them here because I will probably read one of these next.

Well I think this is a significant improvement on the past few times I have done this post. I’m pretty happy with how much I’ve read this week and I hope to finish reading Crown of Midnight some time this week and then focus on finishing Never, Never.

What have you been reading this week? Is there anything you want to finish by the end of the month, I’m interested to know.

Until next time,

This Week In Books

Hey guys 🙂

As far as I know this was founded by Lipsyy Lost & Found, who wanted to put their own spin on the WWW meme.

This week has been a little busy for me but I’m quite proud of how much I managed to read this week. I read a lot more than I thought I would so without further ado let get on with talking books.

NOW

Week 3

Page – 241 of 404 (60%)

I’m slowly making my way through this, I hope to finish this by the end of the week. Hopefully I’ll be able to spend a good few hours on the weekend reading this.

Page 34 of 355 (4%)

Obviously this is not my priority at the moment but as soon as I finish Throne of Glass I’ll try and continue with this. From what little I have read I have been enjoying it. I will read it eventually but it could be put back on to my TBR Shelf if I don’t get to it soon.

Kindle NetGalley ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) 4%

I received this from Spencer Hill Press on NetGalley after requesting it and I hope to get a start on this soon so I can review it for you.

THEN

The HostMelanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, didn’t expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

As Melanie fills Wanderer’s thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she’s never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love. (Via Goodreads)

I told you I was going to finish this this week. Reading this again reminded me why I love Ian O’Shea so much ❤ If you haven’t read this then I recommend this purely for that beautiful specimen of a man. I say I read this but it was more of a skim read.

I rated this book a FIVE out of FIVE stars 🙂

NEXT

I think I am going to ignore this section this week as I feel as if I am repeating myself. I would either put City of Glass here or Crown of Midnight but if I am being completely honest I’ll probably focus on the three books I am reading now rather than look to what other books I will read after them.

OTHER UPDATES

Anime Bleach

bleachI started watching this anime this week and I am enjoying it for the moment. It doesn’t have me hooked and itching to watch the next episode but it is nice to watch it while colouring in my Enchanted Forest colouring book.

Episode Reached – 33 (english dub)

I think that is all that I wanted to mention in this week’s blog post, I have some good posts coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled and,

Until next time,

This Week In Books

As far as I know this was founded by Lipsyy Lost & Found, who wanted to put their own spin on the WWW meme.
I admit that I’m writing this a few days prior (Monday) but I already know what I want to talk about in this post so why wait?.

NOW –

Well … I have more than one book on the go at the moment. I’m hoping to finish at least one this week as I won’t have much time next week. I’m starting my job.

Week 2

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Yes this was on my list last week but I’m really struggling through this, I am really in the mood for a high fantasy at the moment and no matter what anyone says to me, this reads like a Young Adult fantasy. I will finish it though because I do want to carry on with the series.

1984 by George Orwell

I started this yesterday (Sunday) and I have only reached the second chapter. I started reading this because I was watching some Booktube and I had the urge to read a classic\adult fiction. This happened to be on my TBR shelf in easy reach so I picked it up.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

I was watching the film on Film4 last night and I just needed to read this again. It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the book I finish this week. It is one of my favourites.

THEN –

This is going to be the same as last week because as I said I haven’t really read much since then.

Fairy Tail Volume 2 by Hiro Mashima (Translated by William Flanagan)

Fairy Tail Vol 2

NEXT –

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

City of Glass

I keep saying that I’m going to carry on reading the series and finish it by the end of the year. I read the first two books in January … I need to get a move on especially now that I don’t have as much time as I did before.

My theory is, is that if I put this on here then it will give me a bit of a push to actually read it instead of putting it off all the time. From what I can remember this was my favourite book in the trilogy (now a six book series) so I want to see if I still like it as much as I did before.

Wow I really rambled on there a bit, I’m going to leave it at that now and,

Until next time,

I saw this feature on Chrissi Reads and followed her link to Lipsyy Lost & Found who first came up with this post by putting her own twist on WWW Wednesdays meme. I thought that I would give it a try too. I’ve been trying to come up with a way to show you all what I have been reading and thought that this sounded like a nice idea.

In this post I will be talking about what I am reading Now, Then and Next.

Now: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Throne_of_Glass_UK

I haven’t started reading this yet (I’ve been distracted by The Sims 4) but I do plan to start this some time this week. I picked up the newest book Queen of Shadows the other day for my sister. I now own all of them but have only read this one so I need to get a move on and read them all. I am going to try and read them all this month.

Then: Fairy Tail Volume 2 by Hiro Mashima (Translated by  William Flanagan)

Fairy Tail Vol 2

I don’t really do reviews for manga but if you’re interested in a review for this series or any manga series then please tell me and I’ll see what I can do.

Next: Heartless by Marissa Meyer – Estimated to be released 8th November 2016 (Long time away yet)

Heartless Cover reveal

Normally I would put the book I am planing to read next here but it’s pretty obvious that I’m planning to move on to Crown of Midnight (the next book in the Throne of Glass series) so I’m going to use this section for a book that is on my wish list that I really want to get. It just so happens that the first one on my list is a TBReleased.

I recently found out that Marissa Meyer was releasing a new book, in what I assume will be another series. This sounds really good and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! We still have a long wait ahead of us though.

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland — the infamous Queen of Hearts — she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next Queen.

At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the king’s marriage proposal, she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship.

Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans. (Via Goodreads)

I hope you enjoyed reading about what I have been reading, plan to read and reads I’m looking forward to. I hope to continue with this next week so,

Until next time,

Tori x
